just got a set of white clocks from ebay out a mk4 sri just so i can do away with the old black ones! i understand there easy to fit but ive been phoning around asking if anyone knows someone that can set the millage to whats on my car just now, no joy so far, only thing is they said the speedo needs to be re-programed when fitted into my car or they wont work, hopefully this is **** and they mean a mk 5 astra with a canbus system wud need re-programed and NOT my mk 4 speedo.

anyone ?

my mate did the same thing with his mk4 astra van, he had to get the speedo calibrated through vauxhall with the tech 2, it was pretty expensive to do.

its kinda true, if they had the car the clocks came from it could be done, but with out it i think its true, if the had the car the tech 2 resets the clocks in the donor then they can be removed and programed to yours, its the same with corsa c;s, the clocks have to be cleared in the car they come from

well i got them a few days ago and fitted them with no probs, no re-programing etc required like vauxhall said it would, anything to make money i think! only thing i need now is digital millage adjustment. got a few qoutes so far, cheapest i had is ÂŁ50. they say its easy as most astra clocks are made by VDO. just need to plug the machine into the cars diagnostic port. funny thing is the numbers moulded into the plastic on the rear of the new clocks is the same number moulded into the rear of the old black ones. if anyone knows a place that does digital millage adjustment in central scotland let me know, cheers !!
